Completing a sale

At TabTill, we are proud to have built the fastest checkout system in the world, where you only need a maximum of 3 clicks to complete a sale.

Updating your profile

Make your receipts stand out by customizing them. Upload your company logo, update your shop address, website, opening times and a link to your returns policy. You can always use your receipt to promote new products, increase sales or simply improve your branding. Go to Update profile within Settings (accessible from the app bar).

Organising your product catalogue

With TabTill, you can organise your products and services in categories and subcategories. Before adding thousands of new products on TabTill, it is recommended that you plan out your way of organising these efficiently. With TabTill's two tier category and subcategory feature it is clear and easy to do this, only requiring maximum of three clicks to find a product. If you are running a convenience store, you may want to set up categories for sweets, soft drinks, dairy and so on. These will be displayed on the bottom of your screen when using the till. Then you can add subcategories to sweets as chocolate bars, ice cream, cakes and cookies before adding your products to each of these subcategories, either manually or using your barcode scanner.

Basket functions (discounts and extra charges)

When adding a product to your basket either using a barcode scanner or tapping on a product tile, tap on the 0% off label in the basket next to your product name and a pop up menu will appear with various discount levels. You can also set your own discount levels within Settings menu (accessible from the app bar). You can also set permanent discount to a product. Keep your finger on the product tile for just over a second, and the Update product page will appear. Add your chosen discount and click update. Alternatively, you can also set up product campaigns. Go to Reports (accessible from the app bar) and choose Timed campaigns. You will be able to set a start date and time, end date and time and discount level for your product campaign. Your product then will appear highlighted on your till screen within its category with the set discount for the duration of your campaign. This will help your cashiers to push discounted product sales.

You can also set and add extra charges to products in your basket. These may include Corkage for wine shops or Personal Shopping for department stores and even use them as variants (i.e. adding extra charge for medium and large lattes). You can add your preset charge by tapping on the subtotal next to the item in your basket, and your available extra charges will appear. You can also set up your own list of your extra charges within Settings (accessible from the app bar).

Using the Tab system

Most bars, restaurants and pubs use tabs as a means of keeping track of their orders. When you take an order by adding products or Quick Sale items to your basket, you can also inlude notes with each item (i.e. Hamburger with no cheese, or coke no ice). Just click on the product's name in your basket and choose Add note from the pop up menu. Save the order by opening a new tab and add the products already in your basket to it. TabTill will save the order until the customer is ready to pay. When they ask for the bill, just print bill and present it by their table. You can also rename tabs to make them more memorable by keeping your finger on the tile (of i.e. Tab 1) for just over a second. If you have set your Service charge ON within Settings (accessible from the app bar), it will be calculated and added to the bill when printed or checked out and you are ready to take payment. You can also configure TabTill to automatically send your orders to your kitchen printer with your notes attached. Tabs can be saved for an unlimited period, so if you accept commissions or deposit payments, this is also a very efficient way to keep track of them.

QuickSale (Fractional sales - selling products by weight or size)

TabTill's feature called Quick Sale (tap the qs button when using the till or tab to navigate there) allows you to sell your products by weight or size. When adding a new category or subcategory, you can specify whether your wish to include it in Quick Sale (qs). You can set a measurement and unit price (i.e. Sirloin stake selling for £3 per ounce or wallpaper selling for £20 per meter). When using Quick Sale, just click on your chosen category and a pop up menu will appear, where you can enter how much or many you are selling.

Printing last receipt

In some circumstances it is necessary to print a duplicate receipt for your customer. If you require the receipt for the most recent transaction, simply go to the Settings page (accessible from the app bar) and tap Print last receipt. If you require the receipt from any sale in the past, you can access these through Search orders. Select a specific day, week or month and browse your past transactions. By tapping on a single transaction on your list, you can view receipt details including the name of the cashier who served your customer, as well as the exact time of the transaction.

End of day sales

Z-list is your end of day report detailing the amount of cash and card payments taken, gift cards and coupons accepted, refunds issued as well as all the discounts given to your customers. You can cross check these figures with your PDQ's (Credit card machine) readings and the amount of excess cash in your cash draw. Go to Settings and tap on Print Z-list. You can also check your takings for any given day, week, month or a chosen period within Reports (accessible from the app bar), just tap on Sales totals.

Creating campaigns is a simple way of applying discounts and offers to a specific product for a limited time. In Timed campaigns within Reports (accessible from the app bar) you can run a campaign on any product or Quick sale (qs) item. Statistics of these offers can also be accessed on the same page. Products chosen for campaigns will feature the discount or offer underneath the name on the product's tile for the attention of your staff.

You can also start campaigns directly from the page where you modify or update your products and categories. Keep your finger on the product or Quick Sale (qs) category tile for just over a second, and the Update product or Update category page will appear. Choose the Promote button from the app bar and start your campaign.

Managing cashiers

As a Manager, you have full access to TabTill's features. Manage your cashiers, add new ones or promote existing ones easily. Supervisors have access to fewer features than managers and Trainees are only allowed to use the basic features, i.e. making sales, view their own messages, change their PIN. A detailed list of access for each level can be viewed within Manage Cashiers in Settings (accessible from the app bar). Just choose the appropriate level (Manager, Supervisor or Trainee) and the description of each role will appear.
